backstory of the project.
my new album is the result of a creative crisis, after the release of my debut album, New World, an album very grounded in dystopian sci-fi and digital themes.
before the project came to life, i was struggling to find fresh inspiration for the new album, leading to depression and anxiety.
Porter Robinson's 2021 work - "Nurture" - really jump-started my imagination, and its inspiration is the core of the project, so this 2nd EDM album wouldn't come true if it wasn't for that meaningful breakthrough i had in 2024.

it's about the emotional departure from the city's emptyness to the beauty of nature, and real-friendship with a another person- even if it's just a new, separated version of yourself - and experiencing and encountering childhood memories and places.

it also reflects Alvaro’s early production days and candidly addresses EDM’s misunderstood nuances, the longing to be heard as an artist, self-doubt battles, haunting past memories, the bittersweet nostalgia of lovely moments beyond all romance, and challenging AI relationships.

'divided' draws primary inspiration from Porter Robinson’s acclaimed album "Nurture," channeling its emotional depth and natural core.
it also honors elements from disphing’s recent work "href" and Jamie Paige's new album (Constsant Companions) especially the soul-stirring songwriting found in tracks like "InCaseOfEmergency", "inertia", "ineffable" and "Machine Love", blending inspiration into a unique voice.
